Hi everyone!
This last month has been wild. Just a month ago, I hit 100 subscribers—and now I’m close to 400! It feels so surreal to have this many of you here. I'm immensely grateful for this community. Thank you so much!!
Since there are so many new faces around here, I thought I’d share a little something to help you get to know me better. Let’s dive in!
Where are you from?
I’m from Mexico City! I’m really proud to be from there—there’s so much history and culture.
How old are you?
I’m 24, and my birthday is September 16th. I can’t believe I’m going to be a quarter of 100 soon haha
What is your zodiac?
I’m a Virgo and I’d say it describes me really well. I know many people who believe in astrology and others who don’t—I personally find it really interesting!
Do you have any siblings?
I have a sister who is two years younger than me. I love having a sister—she’s basically my built-in best friend!
Do you have any pets?
I have a little cat named Lecce! I say “little” even though she’s two years old now, but she’s just always stayed tiny. My boyfriend and I adopted her from a shelter when she was just three months old.
I also have Mokka, my Australian Shepherd. She’s a blue merle and she’s nine! She’s funny and extremely food driven. Just last October, my other Aussie, Hashtag, passed away. He was also nine. He was the happiest dog—I miss him deeply :’)
I have a family cat named Hecat (named after the Hogwarts Legacy professor), and he’s the typical orange cat in personality haha
What did you study?
I studied Arts and Humanities, so I took classes like philosophy, psychology, sociology, and art. It was the best thing I could’ve studied! Later on, I went on to study interior design. I’m currently training to be a yoga teacher, which is so exciting for me.
What are your favorite books?
I’ve always loved the Harry Potter series since I was young. A Study in Drowning is a book I read recently, and it’s become one of my favorites. Some others I love are the Percy Jackson series, The Book Thief, Sorcery of Thorns, and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.
What are your favorite movies?
Just like with books, there are so many to choose from! I’d say my top favorites are The Parent Trap (1998), Pride and Prejudice (2005), About Time, Midnight in Paris, Clueless, Coraline, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
What music do you listen to?
This might be a bit random, but I love movie soundtracks and classical music. Most of my Spotify Wrapped is made up of film scores—so it’d probably be pretty boring for most people to see haha. I also enjoy bits of everything: indie, French pop, jazz, and house music. Here’s a playlist I’ve been playing on repeat lately—it reminds me of my uni days :’)
If you could take yourself on a date, where would you go?
I would go to an art museum! I’d check if there are any new exhibits or collections to see. Afterwards, I’d grab a coffee and a pastry.
What places do you want to see?
So manyyyy. At the top of my list are Paris and London—they’re places I’ve dreamed of visiting since I was six. Others would be Edinburgh, Bruges, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Seoul.
Do you smoke or drink?
I don’t smoke and I wouldn't consider myself as a drinker. I think I’ve only had one alcoholic drink this year.
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
No tattoos, and I don’t think I’ll ever get one—I’m too indecisive and I think I’d end up regretting it haha. I do have my ears pierced and I’d love to get two more on each side in the future.
Do you want to get married/have kids later on in life?
I’ve always wanted to get married one day. It’s something I’ve fantasized about since I was little. I think it’s so beautiful to celebrate the decision to spend the rest of your life with someone you love.
I also want to have kids in the future. I’ve always had strong motherly instincts and was often referred to as the “mom” of my friend group haha. I think it would be really special to teach someone about life for the first time and to take care of them as they grow.
What’s your favorite food?
I love Italian and Mexican cuisine. I also have to mention that I am a HUGE chocolate lover.
What’s your favorite holiday?
Halloween is my favorite right now. I love the movies, house decorations, and just the idea of dressing up for one night of the year. I think it’s such a fun tradition.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Most likely, I’d be reading something on my Kindle, watch YouTube, or hang out with my boyfriend and family.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I wanted to be a marine biologist! I’ve always loved marine animals and dreamed of living near the beach, so I thought it was the perfect career.
What makes you nervous?
Flying is probably what makes me the most anxious. I used to love it when I was younger, but I had a scary flight once on a trip to New York City—and that pretty much ended my love for flying haha.
What is something that keeps you going?
Both my past and future selves. I want to accomplish the dreams I had when I was younger and be able to look back one day and feel like I truly lived a full life.
If you could be any mythical creature, what would you be and why?
Hmm… probably a fairy. I’d want to be something that still looks like me but just a little more magical and fantastical.
What is one thing you're proud you haven't done?
Changed myself for others.
Do you have a personal mantra? If so, what is it?
“Go with the flow.”
If you could go back and relive one day in your life without changing anything about it, which day would you revisit?
I’d choose a school day in December when I was 10. I loved being in fourth grade—I felt really close with my class, like we were a little family. It would be amazing to feel that excitement again, knowing Christmas and Santa Claus were just around the corner. I’d walk home from school, eat my mom’s home-cooked meal, play American Girl dolls with my sister, and hang out with my family in the evening.
What do you think "success" means?
I think a lot of people associate “success” with money—and while I agree that it’s important, I don’t think that’s what it means for me. I think success is when you’re truly happy in all aspects of life.
Hope you got to know me a little better with this q&a :) What question was your favorite and what would your answer be?
You said Midnight in Paris is one of your favorite pictures. I saw it on the big screen when it came out and my wife and I watched it last week on a DVD borrowed from the public library. I enjoyed watching the picture, but the Rachel McAdams character seemed very thin and poorly written. Do you agree?
You were such a cute little kid in your photos!🥹🩷
